Dear Pastor and Church:

We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to be your missionaries to Honduras.     We arrived in Texas October 15th.  We trust you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Edgar and his family including their 3 week old baby came and spent a couple of nights with us on their way moving to Colorado.  It was our first time to see her. She was born November 2nd in Galveston, Texas.  Her name is Samantha.  Because of the COVID 19 restrictions they couldn’t go in the hospital, but we obtained special permission to bring Alba outside in a wheelchair so she could meet the baby and we could all be together.  It was a special time.   What a Thanksgiving gift from the Lord!

Alba has been in the hospital here since October 22nd.  The night after her first chemotherapy we had to bring her to the emergency room.  Two nights later she was taken to the ICU.  Her blood pressure had dropped and her kidneys were not working.  The 19th of November she had improved enough to be moved to a regular room.    Her lab tests continue to show improvement, although she continues to be very weak and fatigued.  They are doing therapy to help her sit up, stand up, and later walk.  Her kidneys have improved so much that the kidney doctors said Saturday that they are removing the tubes for dialysis.  She hasn’t had dialysis for a week now.   We are waiting to see when she will have the second chemotherapy and where she will go upon being discharged from the hospital.  Please pray for ALBA’S health and strength, for wisdom in the decisions being made, for the ministry in Honduras and ABOVE ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACULOUS AND GOD GLORIFYING HEALING OF HER BODY.

We have continued to have church services with the works in Honduras via Zoom.  Sometimes we join with my parents mission work as they have started having in person services.  Bro J.D. Young helps transmit their service via Zoom.    We also have had special speakers including missionaries like my father, Harold Priday,  Bro. Darrain Coker in Mexico, Bro. Oscar Pineda in north Honduras, and Bro. Jacobo Nazar from western Honduras.  Sunday morning the 6th of December we plan to start having in person Sunday School services.  Bro. J.D. Young will go and help with the technology getting it projected on the screen and I will teach from here via Zoom.   I am teaching a series on the 12 KEY WORDS OF THE BIBLE.    We will continue the Sunday night and our midweek prayer services via Zoom.  I am also teaching two discipleship classes a week on the book of John via Zoom.  So in spite of the obstacles, God’s work continues.

Thank you again for your faithful prayers and financial support.  We are very thankful for the special offerings we have received.   May God bless you greatly.

Yours with Hope for Honduras,

Dear Family and Friends:

We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to be your missionaries to Honduras.  The country has reopened most businesses now.  Only on the day of the last number of your id card can you go to the bank and certain businesses.  They still don’t allow churches to meet, so we continue to have combined services with my parents’ works and ours on the internet, everyone from their home on ZOOM or Facebook Live.  Praise the Lord for the internet!  Please pray that they will soon allow church meetings to continue and that the people will return.

New missionaries J. D. and Vanessa Young family are in Honduras!  They are busy setting up household and studying Spanish.  Please pray for them.  We praise the Lord for sending more laborers for His Harvest.  Maybe you would be willing to come also.

As I recently emailed you, Alba has been diagnosed with cancer.   It has spread to her liver.  She is suffering from fatigue and weakness and can barely eat.  This is the most difficult trial we have ever had, yet I realize that many others of passed through this.  We praise the Lord that we have obtained an appointment October 20th  with an oncologist in Dallas, Texas.  Next week, we will be flying to Texas.  Please pray for ALBA’S  health and strength, for wisdom in the decisions being made, for the ministry here as we leave suddenly, for the Lord’s provision for the airline tickets, out of pocket expenses before the deductible was met, a vehicle, etc., and ABOVE ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACULOUS AND GOD GLORIFYING HEALING OF HER BODY.

Thank you again for your faithful prayers and financial support.  May God bless you greatly.

Dear Colaborers:

As we began our last letter, my how times have changed.  Because of COVID-19, we continue to be in lockdown in Honduras since March 16th.  At first, we could not have meetings of over 50 people.  Then they said no more than 10.  Most businesses open daily, but we can only go to the grocery stores and banks one day every two weeks depending on the last number of your id card.  The post office and most government offices have been closed since March.  The 29th, most of the country will go to phase 1 of reopening.

We continue to have combined services with my parents’ works and ours on the internet, everyone from their home using an app called ZOOM or Facebook Live.  Praise the Lord for the internet! This has been challenging as not everyone has a smart phone or computer.  We have had to purchase the Zoom service so we can have longer than 40 minute services and we had to buy a different internet service provider that is more expensive because the former one broke up a lot.  But we are doing the best we can in these circumstances.  Our living room has become a recording studio.  One Sunday the electricity was off so I had to go to my parents’ house in another part of town where there was electricity to do the service.  We have not canceled any of our services.  We continue to have our midweek prayer service and two services on Sundays.  I have preached, my Dad has, our son Halbert has taught, Bro. Danny Jones, long time missionary to Monterrey and now McAllen, Texas has preached, Bro. Oscar Pineda, a missionary two hours north of us and several Honduran preachers.

Experts believe that there are many more cases that people don’t want to report in our city.  Our son Halbert has tested positive for COVID19, but praise the Lord he has not had any symptoms!  Several of Alba’s nephews and nieces have had it and a brother-in-law, but are recovering.  Please pray for Alba who is battling several effects of a hiatal hernia.  Due to the National lockdown, we made the very difficult decision to cancel our annual Men’s Conference in September.

We praise the Lord that my Mother’s two eye surgeries in Texas went well.  Because the airports are still closed here, they cannot return yet.  We have had to postpone a trip to the States to work on Alba’s paperwork.  Please pray that we can take care of this soon.  New missionaries the J. D. Young family are ready to move here, but are waiting for the airports here to open also.

This Sunday the 2nd of August, I will be privileged to preach by Zoom at the Grace Baptist Church of Port Angeles, Washington.  We met Pastor and Mrs. Stevenson on our trip to Israel in 2018.

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support. It is our privilege to be your missionaries in Honduras.  May God bless you greatly,

Dear Prayer Partners:

Thank you for your prayers and financial support. It is our privilege to be your missionaries in Honduras.

We had a good month in February teaching on the theme Love:  God’s love to us, our love to Him, and our love for one another.  I was also privileged to preach on Missions in My Dad and Mom’s mission work.  Last weekend we had the vigil, funeral, and burial of the mother of two young men of our work.  Please pray for Olger and Gabriel.  Right now we are in the middle of our Annual Ladies Conference with women from 4 different churches.  Alba is directing it and my Mother, Mrs. Lena Priday is teaching on the Fruit of the Spirit.

Please pray for our upcoming Youth Camp. It will be during Easter week in April, or as they call it in Latin America, Holy Week, April 7-11.  We ask you to pray for that the Lord will provide the funds to pay one half of each camper’s cost. That is $59.00. If you can help, please send your offering to the IBFI office, made out to the IBFI, and designated to Honduras Youth Camp. You will be making an eternal investment in that teens life.  We need to receive the offerings by April 5th.   In past camps, we have had teens saved and others dedicate their lives to the Lord. Please pray for each teen and those who will be working, teaching, and preaching.

On a personal note, our granddaughter Aly turned one year old February 6th.   She is growing and changing.  We enjoy her very much!

We thank you for your prayers and financial support in 2019 and look forward to His blessings as we serve Him together in 2020.   May God bless you greatly,

Yours with Hope for Honduras,

Dear Pastor and Church:

We praise the Lord for His blessings and protection as we have travel on this furlough.  In February, we were in churches in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.  We praise the Lord for those we have seen come to the altar to make different decisions and for the churches who are seeing their mission commitments increase.  Some time ago, one of Halbert’s and Edgar’s former teachers from Honduras contacted us and told us that she and her husband were visiting a church and saw our picture on the wall.  It was one of our supporting churches in Roswell, New Mexico.  When we arrived, the pastor told us that she had recently decided to be baptized and would I like to baptize her!  The church voted and authorized me to baptize Rocio and it was my privilege to do so.   My Dad also baptized two in the mission church in Honduras.   We have been privileged to win two to Christ on visitation in New Mexico and Texas.

Below are reports on two projects running simultaneously.   We do not usually do this, but this time it worked out like this.  Please pray about both projects.

Back in September, we shared with you our project to take a vehicle back to Honduras and to pay it off by March 1st so we could request the clear title.  We praise the Lord for the churches and individuals who have helped.  Our home church, Victory Baptist Church of Weatherford, Texas sent $2,000.00 to pay for the repairs and towing expenses.  We are praying for 60 offerings of 460.00 to cover everything.  The following have sent offerings for the vehicle account:

Please pray for our upcoming Youth Camp.  It will be during Easter week, or as they call it in Latin America, Holy Week.   We ask you to pray for that the Lord will provide the funds to pay one half of each camper’s cost.  That is $58.00.  If you can help, please send your offering to the IBFI office, made out to the IBFI, and designated to Honduras Youth Camp.  You will be making an eternal investment in that teens life.  In past camps, we have had teens saved and others dedicate their lives to the Lord.   Please pray for each teen and those who will be working, teaching, and preaching.   We praise the Lord for the offerings we have received so far:
