Dear Pastor and Church:

We thank you for your prayers and financial support.  We count it a privilege to be your missionaries to Honduras.  We look forward to returning and continuing in the work there.   Thank you so much for your prayers for Alba.   She is weak and not able to eat very much.  She continues to receive chemotherapy.  The next one is November 1^st.   She has them every four weeks.     Her blood tests have been good.  Please continue to pray for her complete healing, for a miracle.  Please pray that we can return soon to the work in Honduras

Please pray for our mission church, IGLESIA BAUTISTA CALVARIO.   Missionary Bro. J. D. Young is preaching Sunday mornings, the midweek prayer service, and leading Saturday visitation.  I preach by Zoom on Sunday evenings.  Please pray we will see souls saved.  

Our family praises the Lord for Leslie’s Grandmother’s, Doris Priday, 100^th Birthday October 17^th.  We praise the Lord for the great blessing to have her still.  Leslie’s Dad, Harold, is her oldest son and Leslie is her oldest grandson.  She is a Great-Great Grandma!    She had to move into an assisted living facility earlier this year.

Dear Prayer Partners:

We thank you for your prayers and financial support.  We count it a privilege to continue to be your missionaries to Honduras.  Thank you so much for your prayers for Alba.   In June, Alba began feeling bad and we went to the doctor in our city in Honduras and she recommended that we see the oncologist in Texas asap.  June 16^th, we flew back to Dallas/Fort Worth.   The next day tests were run, and she was hospitalized to control the symptoms she had for five days.  The oncologist recommended she have another cycle of six chemotherapies.  The first one was in the hospital, and she was released the next day.  We praise the Lord for special offerings from our home church, Victory Baptist Church of Weatherford, Texas and Worth Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas to pay for our plane tickets and help us with expenses here.   Also, Worth Baptist Church is renting a furnished apartment for us to live in while we are here.   So far, Alba has had three more chemotherapies.  She has it every four weeks.  Recently, she has been battling an infection which after treatment lingered on.  Last week, I had to take her to the ER, and she was admitted for five days.   The infection is better, and she completed the treatment.  She is weak and having some pain.   Please continue to pray for her complete healing, for a miracle.

Also, please pray for my mother, Lena Priday.  Last week she had knee replacement surgery and surgery on a broken bone in her foot on the same leg.   Please pray that her therapy and recovery go well.   

Please pray for our mission church, CALVARIO.   Missionary Bro. J. D. Young is preaching Sunday mornings, the midweek prayer service, and leading Saturday visitation.  I preach by Zoom on Sunday evenings.  I am still teaching the book of John to two ladies in the church weekly by Zoom.   We praise the Lord that several people who have not been attending were there this Sunday.  Please pray we will see souls saved.

Dear Colaborers:

 We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to continue to be your missionaries to Honduras.  Thank you so much for your prayers for Alba.  We just returned from Texas for her doctor appointment that was on May 4^th.   We praise the Lord that she received a great report from the tests and the doctor.  He said that all her tests’ results are great and that she looks healthy.  Please continue to pray for ALBA’S health and strength.  She continues to have pain in her nerves and joints from the chemotherapy last year.    

Please pray for our mission church, CALVARIO.   Satan has provided the excuse of COVID for people to not attend.  We are basically rebuilding.  On “Good Friday”, we had a field day at a local botanical park with youthfrom three different churches.  We had a time of games, singing, and Bible study in the morning and Missionaries Bro. J.D. and Vanessa Young fixed hamburgers.  My parents were also there with the youth from their church, and Pastor Polo with his.  We had more games and another Bible study after lunch.  

We observed the Lord’s Supper in the church service on Resurrection Sunday.   It was a sweet time of fellowship.  We are having all our regular scheduled services now.  One day one of the young ladies volunteered to start teaching a children’s Sunday School class.  On Saturdays, we go out and pass out gospel tracts in the downtown area.    Please pray we will see souls saved.

Dear Prayer Partners:

 We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to continue to be your missionaries to Honduras.  Thank you so much for your prayers for Alba.  We are in Texas for her doctor appointment.   They had to reschedule it because the doctor had COVID19.    Her medical tests results were great, and the doctor said she didn’t need to return until MAY, three months!  We go back to Honduras this week, the 9^th.  Please continue to pray for ALBA’S health and strength and ABOVE ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACULOUS AND GOD-GLORIFYING HEALING OF HER BODY.  She has pain in her nerves and joints from the chemotherapy last year.    

It has been good to be in the services in Honduras again and preaching. We finished the book of Mark in Sunday School in January.  As we wrote in the last letter, November 28^th Honduras had general elections.  The winning candidate was sworn in last week.  She is the first female President of Honduras, the wife of the former President who was forcefully removed in 2009, and a socialist.  Honduras faces many challenges. There is not a majority in Congress, it is divided between the three main parties.  They have not even been able to elect the President of Congress yet.  Please pray for stability.  But we know that the only true hope of Honduras is our Lord Jesus Christ.  

Please pray for our mission church.   Satan has provided the excuse of COVID for people to not attend.  We are basically rebuilding.  We have lost many people.  We have had a lady and her adult son that are new to the area start to attend services.  As there has been a surge of COVID cases in December and January, it appears that we will not be able to have Youth Camp during Easter week again. 

Our home church Pastor, Dr. Charles Wetherbee retired the 23^rd of January.  Our Assistant Pastor in now our Pastor, Rev. Rob Catuto.  Please pray for him and his wife Patti, for the church, and the Wetherbees during this time of transition.

We greet you from beautiful Honduras! We arrived just in time for Alba’s Father’s 95th birthday party! We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to continue to be your missionaries to Honduras. Thank you so much for your prayers for Alba. Her medical tests were great in October and the doctor said she didn’t need to return until January, three months! Please continue to pray for ALBA’S health and strength and ABOVE ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACULOUS AND GOD- GLORIFYING HEALING OF HER BODY.

The day after we arrived, a group of 20 from Heritage Baptist Church of Haslet, Texas with their pastor Rev. Eric Crawford, arrived to hold a medical brigade in my parents’ mission church. Pastor Crawford preached in the services and I translated for him. I helped them in the clinic and Alba was able to help some. Four hundred and thirty-four patients were seen. My Dad had two church members sharing the Gospel with each patient while they waited for their medicines or vitamins and forty received Christ as their Savior.

As we headed to the airport with the group, my Dad and Mom had all the luggage in their pickup and trailer. My Dad wrote, “a small girl ran out in front of a pickup who swerved right in front of me. To avoid the pickup we swerved across three lanes of heavy traffic smashing into the high voltage power line. GOD IS SO GOOD that no one was hurt. We missed all cars, the electric pole kept us from rolling into a very deep embankment. Lena and I did not have any bruises or pains.” We saw God’s powerful Hand protecting them in many details.

It has been good to be in the services here again and preaching. This November 28th, the country of Honduras will be having general elections. Please pray that God’s Will will be done. There are always threats of violence if one side does not accept the results. Honduras faces many challenges. But we know that the only true hope of Honduras is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear Pastor and Church:

Greetings from Honduras! We returned August 11th. It has been wonderful to see and spend time with our family here. We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to be your missionaries to Honduras. Thank you so much for your prayers for Alba. We praise the Lord for her improvements! Her surgery in July was a success and she recuperated well. But a week after we returned, she tripped and broke two bones in one foot and one bone in the other foot. She has to wear a boot on one and a special shoe on the other. Please continue to pray for ALBA’S health and strength and ABOVE ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACULOUS AND GOD-GLORIFYING HEALING OF HER BODY.

It has been great to be in the services and preach in person in our work in Honduras and to see the people, We are studying the Gospel of Mark in Sunday School. The Sunday night and midweek services continue via Zoom. So in spite of the obstacles, God’s work continues. On Saturdays, we are going out in groups and passing out tracts. We hope to have a baptism service this month. The number of COVID cases skyrocketed in August, so we still have to be careful. But many people are getting vaccinated, so we plan to eliminate the Zoom services in November and hopefully we can then resume door to door visitation.

I was able to renew my residence visa I.D. card on time without any problems, praise the Lord. Alba was able to apply for her new I.D. card to which they are changing everyone.

We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to be your missionaries to Honduras. Thank you so much for your prayers for Alba. She received her last chemotherapy for this round May 25th. Her appointments are every three weeks. At that time they run blood tests, also. Each time her blood test results improve. Now they are giving her maintenance treatments. But, she is much stronger now. The doctor said that this is a good time to let her body rest and recover from the chemotherapy treatments. We praise the Lord! Please pray for ALBA’S health and strength and ABOVE ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACULOUS AND GOD-GLORIFYING HEALING OF HER BODY.

I have been privileged to preach in four churches while we have been here. I was excited to be able to teach six classes in the Norris Bible Baptist Seminary (https://www.norrisseminary.org/) in Fort Worth, Texas. Also, we were able to attend some of our home church’s mission conference. In May, we attended the Annual Fellowship Meeting of the Independent Baptist Fellowship International (https://www.ibfi.us/) and I was honored to be asked to teach in the Missions Seminar. And, our friend, Bro. Phillip Sawilowsky of OLIVE TREE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL has asked me to translate the materials from their video series called the Virtual Tour of Israel from their Jewish Heritage Night classes (https://olivetreeministryinternational.org/).

The work in Siguatepeque continues to have church services via Zoom. They meet Sunday mornings in the building we rent. Missionary Bro. J.D. Young helps with the technology getting it projected on the screen, leads the music, and I teach from here via Zoom. Sometimes Bro. Young preaches too. We continue to have the Sunday night and our midweek prayer services via Zoom only. My parents’ work is able now to have in person services, so on Sunday night, we merge our services on Zoom. I continue to teach two discipleship classes a week on the Gospel of John via Zoom. In June, Bro. Young renewed the visitation going door to door. I recently was asked by one of our men to talk to his ten year old son about his salvation after our prayer service and the little boy received Christ as his Savior! That was so exciting! So in spite of the obstacles, God’s work continues

We are planning a trip for several weeks to Honduras in August. I must renew my residence visa I.D. card and Alba has to get her new I.D. card to which they are changing everyone. We will have special services and Lord willing, I will be baptizing several people. If you would like to help with the expenses of this trip, please send a check to IBFI and made out to the IBFI designated for LESLIE & ALBA’s travel funds.

Dear Pastor and Church:

We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to be your missionaries to Honduras. 

 Thank you so much for your prayers for Alba.  She has been receiving chemotherapy treatment every three weeks.  At that time they run blood tests, also.  Each time her blood test results improve.  She had a CT scan March 22^nd and a PET scan April 27^th.  We are waiting for the results from it and on May 5^th another chemotherapy.  The doctor said that she has made  “tremendous improvement” since October.  He said that he will continue the chemotherapy as long as it is helping and she can tolerate it.  He is considering surgery.   But, she is much stronger now.  She can stand up and sit up by herself and doesn’t use the walker or cane anymore and even cooks some.   We praise the Lord!  Please prayfor ALBA’S health and strength and ABOVE ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACULOUS AND GOD-GLORIFYING HEALING OF HER BODY.   

Last week, on Thursday April 15^th, my parents celebrated their SIXTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.  They are here for medical reasons, so we had a special dinner and afterwards a ZOOM meeting with friends.  It was an exciting time.  Congratulations to them again!  It was great to have my Aunt Sharon and her husband Toby from Durango, Colorado come to celebrate with us!

We continue to have church services with ours and my parents’ works in Honduras via Zoom.  Our mission work is meeting Sunday mornings in the building we rent.  Missionary Bro. J.D. Young helps with the technology getting it projected on the screen and I teach from here via Zoom.    We continue to have the Sunday night and our midweek prayer services via Zoom only.   My parents work is able now to have in person services, so on Sunday night, we merge our services on Zoom.      I continue to teach two discipleship classes a week on the Gospel of John via Zoom.  So in spite of the obstacles, God’s work continues.  I have been privileged to preach several times in churches here in Texas.    

What are our plans?  To return to Honduras ASAP – As Soon As Possible!

When then?  Only God knows.  We want to continue in the ministry in which God has put us in Honduras.  But for now He has us here for Alba’s treatment.

Dear Prayer Partners:

We thank you for your prayers and financial support and count it a privilege to be your missionaries to Honduras.  We thank those of you who have sent special offerings and Christmas offerings to help with our medical expenses and other extra expenses here in the U.S.A.  May God bless you greatly for your help and prayers.  We pray that the New Year will be one full of God’s blessings and watch care.

Alba was discharged from the hospital December 7^th and spent two weeks in a rehabilitation center in Arlington, Texas.  Praise the Lord for answering prayers so she could be discharged from there in time for Christmas so we could be together!  Steve and Halbert are here with us helping greatly.  Lighthouse Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas have provided their mission house for us to live in while we are here.  It is a great blessing.  My parents were here for Christmas for my Mom to se the cornea specialist.  Last week the home nurse and the home physical therapist discharged Alba from their treatments.  She is able to stand up by herself now and walk with only a cane.  She has even done some cooking!  Next week, on the 9^th, she will have her 5^th chemotherapy.  After the 6^th one in March, the doctor said they will run tests to see how the cancer has reacted.  Each time her blood test results improve.  Please prayfor ALBA’S health and strength and ABOVE ALL PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACULOUS AND GOD GLORIFYING HEALING OF HER BODY.   

We continue to have church services with ours and my parents’ works in Honduras via Zoom.  Our mission work is meeting Sunday mornings in the building we rent.  Missionary Bro. J.D. Young helps with the technology getting it projected on the screen and I teach from here via Zoom.   I continue to teach a series on the 12 KEY WORDS OF THE BIBLE.    We continue to have the Sunday night and our midweek prayer services via Zoom only.  Since my parent’s church is not able to have in-person services, my Dad is preaching for all of us on Sunday evening.    I continue to teach two discipleship classes a week on the book of John via Zoom.  So in spite of the obstacles, God’s work continues.  We had to cancel our annual Ladies conference in February and Youth Camp which is always during Easter Week.
