September, 2013
Dear Pastor and Church:
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and financial support. We praise the Lord for His Blessings in our family and ministry. In July, our oldest son Steve visited us for two weeks from Fort Worth, Texas. He was able to see most of the family here and even got to go the beach! August 20th, we celebrated our 25th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. We praise the Lord for His Help, Strength, and Blessings during these years and the wonderful family God has given us, and we look forward to many more years together serving Him!
The first week of September, we held our annual Men’s Conference. Once again, I invited my Father, Missionary Harold Priday to speak for us. A total of seventeen men attended, including six pastors from three cities and two mountain areas of the country, my Dad and I, and our two sons (they are men now!!!). Almost every pastor brought a church leader with him. The theme was VISIONARY LEADERS. This year we did several different things. 1. We held the conference at a local camp. We began Friday with supper and spent the night there. We had to cancel the bonfire due to the rain, but still had a wonderful testimony time inside. We spent the night there and on Saturday continued. 2. My Dad asked Halbert and Edgar to each give a short talk about the importance of a vision and goals in one’s life. Both did a great job and we were very pleased and proud of them!! Thank you for your prayers for this important conference! One of the greatest needs here is for men to be leaders.
September 10th is Children’s Day in Honduras. We celebrated it in the mission in Barrio Abajo the 8th with a special Sunday School dedicated to children. We had a total attendance that day of ninety-one! We had a special message for children, piñatas, gift bags, and a lunch. The church people did a fantastic job of organizing and carrying out the celebration.
We praise the Lord that we have seen several saved in the month of September. This is fruit that abounds to your account and it is our privilege to serve the Lord for you in Honduras. Please continue to pray for us as the Dengue fever is in epidemic proportions here and for financial needs. May God bless you greatly.
Yours with Hope For Honduras,
The Leslie Priday Family
