Dear Pastor and Church:
Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support. It is our privilege to be your representatives in the country of Honduras. Crime and violence are constantly increasing here, so please pray for the safety of our family, church, and friends. One of Alba’s sisters was victim of extortion and her house was shot at in August. They had to close their business and move to another city. Last week the political parties of the country had their primary elections for president, congress, and mayors of each city. This was the special prayer request that we could not mention. We trust that each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We celebrated in our home with my parents. I was asked by one of our local grocery stores to go on the local evening news program and explain what Thanksgiving is!
We are in the process of changing our prayer letter list to an email list. We want to thank those who have responded to this request. If you prefer receiving emails, please send us your church’s email address or your personal email to send you our letters. This will save money in postage and printing. If you prefer to receive a paper copy, we will be glad to continue to send it to you. Please contact us through the IBFI address or our email below.
September 10th is CHILDREN’S DAY in Honduras. Our church celebrated with the children having a game day with refreshments and a piñata full of candy. We had a great time with the children. Also, the youth visited an orphanage. They played with the kids, took them some toys, and a meal from Wendy’s. It was good for our church youth to see the misfortune of others and we trust we were a blessing to the children.
Men from around Central and Western Honduras gathered for our annual Men’s conference the end of September. We had four men from our mission. We also had three Honduran Pastors. My Dad, Missionary Harold Priday, taught on the subject of REAL CHRISTIAN MEN. It was a blessing to all who attended. Thank you for your prayers!
December will be a very busy month. The 1st our church will host a Youth Rally with several other churches. The 8th I will teach a workers workshop in our church. The 14th several mission churches are having a watch night service together. Our mission will have a special Christmas service, dinner, and offering the 23rd. Also, January 7th – 11th we will have Vacation Bible School with the help of Misionary Miss Gayle Sparkes. Please pray for each of these special activities, that souls will be saved and Christians edified.
May God bless each of you in a special way as you help us reach Honduras with the only true Hope, Jesus Christ. We wish each of you a truly blessed Christmas, celebrating the Birth of our Precious Savior.
Yours with Hope for Honduras,
Leslie, Alba, Halbert, & Edgar Priday
