Dear Family & Friends,

Praise the Lord I am writing from Honduras! We arrived last Wednesday, the 6th. We had a few complications with our suitcases with Continental Airlines.
They did not allow us to pay for one over weight suitcase and did not allow us to pay extra for the boys’ guitars. So we had to leave a suitcase and one guitar in Texas.
Other than that, we had no problems on the trip. Everything went very smoothly. We arrived on time. Praise the Lord nothing was lost nor stolen. My parents picked us up at the airport and we made the two and a half hour drive to where we live in Siguatepeque, Central Honduras We found all fine at our house, for which we thank the Lord. The plants, flowers and trees have all grown very much. Thank you for your prayers for our trip and for things here while we were in the States.

Honduras is beautiful this time of the year. We are in the rainy season and everything is so green! It is quite a contrast from Texas and the Western U.S. It has been great to be with my parents and Alba’s family, too. It was exciting to go to church Sunday and see the people of the church. Sunday night they had a special welcome service for us. They gave Alba flowers and had a dinner for us. We had a great time of fellowship. I have already had 2 different churches ask me to preach for them in special meetings.

Please pray about our container shipment. The shipping company mistakenly shipped it here without the proper papers from U.S. Customs. So now they have to ship it back to the States, reprocess the papers, and then send it back here again. Please pray that all this will be done quickly and correctly without a lot of red tape. It was supposed to leave Texas for here the 15th, but it won’t leave here to go back to Texas until the 17th.

Please note that we now have a new email address: lesliepriday@gmail.com. This is effective immediately.
Also, we have a Vonage phone with a Texas phone number, so if you want to call us, it will be like calling Fort Worth, Texas. The number is 8 1 7 - 8 8 6 - 0 4 2 3.
Our regular Honduras phone number is 011-504-773-1530, the fax number is 011-504-773-1531 and Leslie’s cell number is 011-504-9996-1109.
Our mailing address is:
Apartado 99
Siguatepeque, Com. 12111
Honduras, Central America

We look forward to hearing from you! Be sure to visit our web page, we will try to update it regularly. It is www.lesliepriday.com.

Thank you again for your prayers. May God bless each of you in a special way. We appreciate you so very much. We consider it a privilege to be your representatives in Honduras.

Dear Family & Friends,

Wow, it has been awhile since I have had time to send out an email update. We certainly appreciate your prayers. Let me tell you what has been going on.

We had a great 2 weeks in Oregon. On our way, we spent a few days in Durango, Colorado with an aunt on my Mom’s side of the family. Then we visited the Mark Haynes missionary family on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and visited 3 churches there. From there we spent a couple of days with Liz Smith (Winkler) near Prescott, Arizona and her 9 adopted children. We finally made it to Oregon. We spent a few days with my Grandma. Her health is much better, but at 85, she still has some health problems. We drove 3 hours to Portland to the home where my Grandpa is and celebrated his 90th birthday! We praise the Lord that he was having a good day and we had a good time with him. We also spent a few days with one of my Mom’s brothers and his wife, Harold and Lyla. They hosted the 50th wedding anniversary luncheon of my Mom’s oldest brother, Leroy. It was great to see some cousins that I hadn’t seen for a long time. We got to visit my Dad’s brother and his wife, Raymond and Elaine, also. It was great to see our family there, but sad to have to say goodbye, realizing that age and health may take them into eternity anytime. We were able to visit the aunt that had a fall on Mother’s Day from which she resulted paralyzed, Marie Duncan. We appreciate your prayers for her. She is in good spirits. She cannot talk and can only move her lips and eyes. She is on a respirator. She will hopefully be able to go home in a couple of weeks.

We are so excited that tomorrow we are going home to Honduras. We are in a hotel tonight near the airport. We have to be at the airport at 4:30 A.M. As my uncle said, that’s before breakfast! We fly to Houston and change planes and then at 9:00 leave for HONDURAS. We arrive there at 12:00 Texas time. Last week, immigration there was on strike, so prayerfully they will be working tomorrow. When we get out of the airport we will have a 2 ½ hour trip home to Siguatepeque. My Dad will pick us up at the airport. We are anxious to finally see my parents Alba’s family and get to our house and sleep in our own beds tomorrow night!

Tonight we had supper with Steve and some friends that brought us over here to this hotel. It was sad to say goodbye to Steve. Please pray for him. It will be lonely for him.

Please pray for us as we travel that everything will go smoothly and that we won’t lose anything and that nothing will be stolen out of our suitcases.
Also, pray for the shipping of the container. There seems to have been some complications on the boarding of the ship. Will keep you posted.

Thank you for your prayers and may God bless you.

In Christ,

Thursday, July 10, 2008 (Link to PDF File: Here)

Dear Colaborers:

Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We praise the Lord for His watch care over us as we continue to travel. The end of May, we attended the IBFI Fellowship and Missions’ Seminar. I was privileged to teach a class in it. Halbert and Edgar were able to attend youth camp with our home church in June. We have recently been in churches in Texas, Arizona, and on the Navajo Reservation. We were in three churches there and enjoyed fellowship with the Mark Haynes family as well. Right now we are visiting family in the state of Oregon. When we leave here we will be in a church in Colorado. Then we return to Texas and make the final preparations for our return to Honduras.

We are very excited about returning in less than a month, August 6th! The time has gone fast on furlough, yet at the same time it seems like we have been here a very long time. God has blessed in the churches’ services and conferences. We ask you to please pray about some of the special needs that we have to purchase and preparations to ship. Some of them are a freezer, a portable sound system, an air compressor, a desktop computer, and an electric piano. We praise the Lord we were able to sell our minivan and put a down payment on a 2005 Ford Escape. We also need to raise funds for our return tickets. If your church could send us a special offering, it would be a great blessing to us!

Our home church will be having a special service for us on August 3rd before we leave. Maybe your church would like to designate that day as PRIDAYS DAY and have a time of special prayer for us and possibly receive a special offering. It would be powerful if many would join together that day in prayer for us and the ministries in Honduras. When we return, we will be starting a new mission work in a different area of our city and working with the Bible Institute. Two ladies from a church in Oregon are coming in September to work with us, one for 3 months. In December we will be having vacation Bible schools, and in February a ladies conference.

Please pray that God will call men to preach and serve Him in the churches we start. Also, please pray that He will prepare hearts to receive His Word as we preach the Gospel as Paul requested in Colossians 4:3-4. There is much to do in Honduras. We must win souls, baptize converts, start and establish churches to disciple those converts, and train teachers and pastors for the churches. As we return to the ministry there, please pray especially that the Lord will bless us and that we will see many souls saved, baptized, discipled, and trained to serve Him. We must do as much as we can as fast as we can as soon as we can, for the Lord is coming soon.

Yours with Hope For Honduras,

Leslie Priday

MOVAVE DESERT, CALIFORNIA.

HEADED WEST.

HOT SUN BEAMING INTO FRONT WINDSHIELD, COOKING US IN THE FRONT SEAT.

100° Fahrenheit outside.

3:00 IN THE AFTERNOON

Suddenly, the air conditioner starts blowing hot air. Maybe it is frozen up so we put it on vent a while.

Turned a/c back on, still, hot air.

How far are we from Bakersfield?

How long would it take to fix it?

How much is this going to cost?

But it is Saturday afternoon, everything will be closed.

SUDDENLY, COLD AIR STARTS BLOWING OUT AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF HOT AIR! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

God sure is so good to us.

So, we continue on, trying to make it to a favorite restaurant for supper, Andersen’s Pea Soup restaurant.

Don’t think we will make it to Redding tonight, but we will get close enough to make it to Redmond, Oregon to Grandma’s house tomorrow after church!

Please continue to pray for us. We had good services in 3 churches on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and a good service in Prescott, Arizona Wednesday night.
Had a great but short visit with friends ( Liz Winkler Smith) there and had a great July 4th with them. Thank you for your prayers,

Dear Prayer Partners:

Wow, Texas is big! Since our last letter, we have been traveling around the great state of Texas. We have been in the panhandle, several churches in west Texas all the way to El Paso, down to Houston, San Antonio, and all the way to the Corpus Christi area! We were also in a conference in Kansas. We praise the Lord for His blessings in these churches and for the privilege of being used by Him. We are grateful to Him for the churches that have become partners with us in the ministry by beginning to support us financially and for churches that have increased our support. What a privilege to be co laborers with you for the souls of Hondurans.

We certainly appreciate all who have sent us birthday cards. All of us have had birthdays the last few weeks. Three of those were celebrated on the road and in mission conferences. My parents just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Thirty-five of those years have been as missionaries! I praise the Lord for a Christian family.

We are very excited that we only have 3 months before we go back to Honduras. We will be leaving the first week of August. The Lord has worked it out that our ocean freight shipping will be given to us by Chiquita Bananas! We just have to pay for the shipping to the port and the customs and other expenses in Honduras. We ask you to please pray about some of the special needs that we have to purchase in May and prepare to ship. Some of them are a freezer, a portable sound system, an air compressor, a desktop computer, an electric piano and a vehicle. We also need to raise funds for our return tickets. If your church could send us a special offering in May or June, it would be a great blessing to us!

Our home church will be having a special service for us before we leave on August 3rd. Maybe your church would like to designate that day as PRIDAYS DAY and have a time of special prayer for us and possibly receive a special offering. When we return, we will be starting a new mission work in a different area of our city and working with the Bible Institute. Please pray that God will call men to preach and serve Him in the churches we start. Also, please pray that He will prepare hearts to receive His Word as we preach the Gospel as Paul requests in Colossians 4:3-4. It is our desire to see more souls saved than ever, see them obey the Lord in baptism, discipled, and repeating the process as they serve Him.

Yours with Hope For Honduras,

THE LESLIE PRIDAY FAMILY
