Dear Colaboreres:

Greetings from hot and dusty Honduras! We are in the middle of our summer here. We are busy with the preparations for your annual Youth Camp. The dates this year are April 15th-19th. The theme is Be Salt and Light, emphasizing discipleship and evangelism. Because of the high percentage of youth in the population of Honduras and the risks they face, we consider Youth Camp the most important activity of our year. As our friend and Associate Pastor Rev. Jonathan Stewart says, we want to ISOLATE them from the world and bad influences, INSULATE them against the devil’s attacks and temptation, and INUNDATE them with the Word of God. We want to train workers for the Lord and leaders for the churches that participate. We are including pictures from last year’s camp.

Please pray that the Lord will provide these extra funds. That comes out to about $50.00 for each camper. We are praying for a special offering of $2,500.00 for this camp. We need to know where we stand so we can plan accordingly. If you would like to help financially, please contact us by phone or email. Your prayers and financial help are an eternal investment in the lives of the youth who will be attending.

We also ask you to fervently pray with us and for us as we organize and operate this year’s camp that the hearts of the youth will be touched by God’s Word, that He will help the teachers, preachers, and counselors, and that His Name will be honored.

Yours with Hope For Honduras,

The Leslie Priday Family

Dear Prayer Partners:

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support.   As we begin another year, we covet and appreciate your continued prayers.  It is our privilege to represent you in Honduras as we obey the Great Commission together.  We hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

We ask you to once again be praying for our annual Youth Camp in April.  To be able to have camp with our youth who come from poor homes, we have to help them with half of their camp costs.  Please pray that the Lord will provide these extra funds.  That comes out to about $50.00 for each camper.  We are praying for a special offering of $2,500.00 for this camp.    We need to know where we stand so we can plan accordingly.  If you can help, please contact us.

We praise the Lord that the elections here went smoothly without violent protests and the losers have accepted their defeat.  The newly elected officials will be sworn in this week.  Please pray that they will serve honestly and that they will fight against the corruption and violence in the country.  We know that the only true hope for the problems of Honduras is Jesus Christ.

During November and December the young people and a few adults practiced hard for our Christmas program under the direction of a new lady and Halbert.  It was a drama and musical combined.  We praise the Lord for their hard work and that it was a  blessing to all of us.  It was exciting to watch them do it.    After the program, we fellowshipped over a delicious Christmas dinner.  We spent Christmas Eve at home and Christmas day at my parent’s house.  On New Year’s Day some of Alba’s family came for lunch.

Two Thousand and Fourteen has started with a busy schedule as usual.  The first week from Sunday to Sunday we had our annual week of prayer.  We have a lesson on prayer each day and then a special time of prayer for a different theme.  Soon we will have a special Friend’s Day with special guests Missionary Oscar Pineda and a group from their work in another area of the country.

Please pray for a young teen boy named Ramon.  He was saved recently and wants to be baptized but is facing opposition from his family who are staunch Catholics.  We pray that the New Year will bring you health and many blessings from the Lord as you serve Him.   Thank you again for your prayers and support.

Yours with Hope For Honduras,

Leslie, Alba, Halbert, & Edgar Priday

 Dear Friends:

We want to wish each of you a blessed Thanksgiving.  We thank God for each of you and your prayers and financial support.  We will have Thanksgiving at home with my parents this year.  We are beginning a very busy time of the year with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and special activities in the month of January.  Your prayers are always coveted and appreciated!  God’s blessings never cease.

We praise the Lord that four were recently baptized.  It is exciting to see believers obey the Lord in Scriptural baptism.   The lady in the picture is the mother of the girl on the far right.  She came to us from another area of the country and wanted to serve in our church and I told her that first she had to be baptized in our church since she had been baptized in a church of a different doctrine than ours.  With unusual enthusiasm she said yes!

Sunday the 24th of November is Election Day in Honduras.  They will be voting for their municipal authorities, congress, and for President.  Please pray with us that there will be no fraud, no violence, and that the candidates elected will serve honorably.

The youth in the church are working hard on the Christmas program.  Part of them is doing a play and part is in the choir.  We are excited to see their desire to serve the Lord through this.  The program will be December 22nd.    The first week of January will be our annual week of prayer.  Then we will have Vacation Bible School for the children and young teens.  Once again missionary Miss Gayle Sparks will be helping us.  We thank the Lord for her help.

We ask you to once again begin praying for our annual Youth Camp in April.  To be able to have camp with our youth who come from poor homes, we help them with half of their camp costs.  Please pray that the Lord will provide these extra funds.  That comes out to about $45.00 for each camper.  We are praying for a special offering of $2,500.00 for this camp.  We need to know where we stand so we can plan accordingly.  If you can help, please contact us.

Yours with Hope For Honduras,

Dear Pastor and Church:

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and financial support. We praise the Lord for His Blessings in our family and ministry. In July, our oldest son Steve visited us for two weeks from Fort Worth, Texas. He was able to see most of the family here and even got to go the beach! August 20th, we celebrated our 25th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. We praise the Lord for His Help, Strength, and Blessings during these years and the wonderful family God has given us, and we look forward to many more years together serving Him!

The first week of September, we held our annual Men’s Conference. Once again, I invited my Father, Missionary Harold Priday to speak for us. A total of seventeen men attended, including six pastors from three cities and two mountain areas of the country, my Dad and I, and our two sons (they are men now!!!). Almost every pastor brought a church leader with him. The theme was VISIONARY LEADERS. This year we did several different things. 1. We held the conference at a local camp. We began Friday with supper and spent the night there. We had to cancel the bonfire due to the rain, but still had a wonderful testimony time inside. We spent the night there and on Saturday continued. 2. My Dad asked Halbert and Edgar to each give a short talk about the importance of a vision and goals in one’s life. Both did a great job and we were very pleased and proud of them!! Thank you for your prayers for this important conference! One of the greatest needs here is for men to be leaders.

September 10th is Children’s Day in Honduras. We celebrated it in the mission in Barrio Abajo the 8th with a special Sunday School dedicated to children. We had a total attendance that day of ninety-one! We had a special message for children, piñatas, gift bags, and a lunch. The church people did a fantastic job of organizing and carrying out the celebration.

We praise the Lord that we have seen several saved in the month of September. This is fruit that abounds to your account and it is our privilege to serve the Lord for you in Honduras. Please continue to pray for us as the Dengue fever is in epidemic proportions here and for financial needs. May God bless you greatly.

Yours with Hope For Honduras,

The Leslie Priday Family

Dear Friends and Supporters:

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support.   We will soon be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.  Many of you have prayed for us and supported us that entire time or longer.  It is our privilege to serve the Lord on your behalf in Honduras.

We recently had our celebration of Student’s Day with teens of four different churches.  We had games led by our son Halbert, singing, Bible preaching by two Honduran pastors, and the ladies of our church prepared lunch for them.  A good group attended and they had a great time.  We have these meetings to encourage them in the decisions they made at Youth Camp and to give them the opportunity to have fellowship with other Christians.

Please pray for our annual men’s conference September 6th and 7th.  Once again my Dad, Missionary Harold Priday will be the speaker.  Our theme will be Visionary Leaders.  We will have it overnight this time at the same place where the teens have camp.  This will give them the opportunity to get away from the noise of the rat race and to be more focused on the conference.  We are expecting men from at least seven churches.  One of the greatest needs here is for men to be leaders in their homes and churches.

In the mission work in Barrio Abajo we continue studying the book of Revelation on Sunday nights.  The youth are studying the Sermon on the Mount on Saturdays, Practical Christian Service, and in Sunday School we are finishing a study on Lifestyle Stewardship.  There is much sickness this time of the year, including near epidemic proportions of the dengue fever.  It comes from the bite of a certain type of mosquitoes.  So please pray for our health and the health of the people here.

May 22nd, one of my Mother’s sisters, Carol Frances Clark died and went home to be with the Lord.  I was honored to do the funeral and was in the States 2 weeks.  It was good to see most of my family.  Please pray for all of the family as she is greatly missed.  Please pray for the health of another of my Mom’s sisters, Virginia Cansler.  Right now we are enjoying a two week visit of our son Steve who lives Fort Worth, Texas.   Thank you for your prayers and may the Lord bless you greatly.

Yours with Hope For Honduras,

Leslie and Alba Priday

Dear Co-laborers:

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and financial support as our co-workers in the ministry in Honduras.

During Easter Week, March 26-30, had our annual Youth Camp. Thank you so much for your prayers. The theme was Acts Not Just Words. We had a better attendance than last year from 3 of the 4 churches that attended. We had 16 campers and 4 adults from our church and my Dad & Mom’s church had 13 campers! We had a total of 41 kids from 13 to 25 years old and 6 counselors. Each cabin of 6 or 7 had devotions before breakfast. We had two classes each morning. I taught the book of James and Pastor Daniel from Tegucigalpa taught on False Doctrines. Each night we had a service with preaching and special music from the churches. A Honduran preacher, Walter preached an evangelistic message the first night. My Dad preached one night on what the Bible teaches about music. It impacted the campers!! The last night Pastor Daniel preached on Christian Commitment and we had the Testimony/Bonfire service. It is always a great blessing to hear the campers talk about what Camp meant for them. Halbert and Edgar directed the games and activities each afternoon. Edgar was also a cabin leader. Alba and I were also cabin leaders. Alba ran the little store, went back and forth buying supplies, and helped me direct the camp. Sunday night, everyone who went to camp gave their testimony about how it was a blessing to them. It excites and blesses me to hear their testimonies how the Lord worked in their hearts and that this year was the best year.

We praise the Lord for our Home Church, Victory Baptist Church of Weatherford, Texas; Eaton Baptist Temple of Eaton, Ohio, and two individuals who sent special offerings in February and March. We even had a lady from our church here that helped pay half of the cost of 6 campers!! However, at this point we have not had enough come in to cover this. We are short $1,000.00 to pay the part with which we help the campers. We need to pay this as soon as possible. . Please pray with us that the Lord will provide these extra funds. If you would like to give financially, please email us or call us at 817-886-0423. That is a Vonage phone that rings in our home here in Honduras. That way we can know how much is coming in.

We praise the Lord that we had 4 baptized in recently. One of them is the son of a faithful lady that we had prayed for a long time. Resurrection Sunday was an exciting and busy day. We had our traditional Sunrise service at 5:00 A.M., Sunday School, and in the evening service we celebrated the Lord’s Supper. We began studying the book of Revelation on Sunday evenings. Thank you for your prayers and may the Lord bless each of you in a special way for working together with us for souls in Honduras.

Dear Prayer Partners:

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and financial support as our partners in the ministry in Honduras.

During Easter Week, March 26-30, we will have our annual Youth Camp.  Please begin to pray for it even now.  Our goal is that their lives will be spiritually impacted forever!  Please pray for the teachers and preachers, for the youth that they will be receptive to God’s Word, and for the counselors.  Most of our youth are poor and for them to be able to attend we ask for you to help them by paying for half of one’s Camp fee.  We need to raise $40.00 for each camper, about $2000.00.  If you can help, please send your offering to the IBFI designated for Youth Camp by March 15th.   Please notify us if you are able to have a part at lesliepriday@gmail.com or 817-886-0423.

Vacation Bible School in January was a great success.  For the second year, Miss Gayle Sparks, Missionary to Mexico, came to help us have it.  We praise the Lord that we had eighty children registered and fifteen accepted Christ as their Savior.  That made it worth all the hard work!!  We had thirteen teachers and workers for four classes!  Each year more teens and adults get involved, praise the Lord!!

We had a great LADIES CONFERENCE February 21 to 23.  Alba always does a great job leading and organizing the conference. Our speaker this year was my mother, Lena Priday.  The Lord used her to touch the hearts of the ladies as she spoke on the theme of Ester, A Brave Servant.  The ladies were blessed and encouraged.  We had thirty women attend.  The majority of the women in our churches are single mothers.

Thank you for your prayers and may the Lord bless each of you in a special way for working together with us for souls in Honduras.

Leslie and Alba Priday and Sons

Dear Prayer Partners:

We trust that each of you had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year is blessed.  We spent Christmas Day with Leslie’s parents and had a big dinner.  New Year’s Day we had a big dinner at home with some of Alba’s family.   Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve we were at home, eating tamales and torrejas, drinking pineapple punch,  and shooting firecrackers.  Thank you for your prayers and financial support.

Praise the Lord for His blessings in the ministry.  We had several special activities in December.  The month began with a Youth Rally hosted by our church.  Sixty teens from four churches attended.  Two pastors preached, we had music specials, and Halbert led in games.  Thank you for your prayers.

What started out as a one afternoon workers workshop grew into us gathering four different times, training workers for the church and for special activities like Vacation Bible School and Youth Camp.  Praise the Lord for a good group coming for these training times.

We also had a watch night service the 14th instead of the 31st!  We had twenty-four from our church and 3 men from another mission from 7:00 p.m. till breakfast at 7:00 a.m.  We had a moving Christian movie, three preachers speak, special music, refreshments, the bonfire testimony time lasted from 12 to 4 a.m., and Bible games in between.  The Lord spoke to hearts and it was a blessing to all those present.

Please pray for our Ladies Conference, February 21 to 23.  Our speaker this year will be my mother, Lena Priday.  Pray for her as she speaks, for Alba as she leads it, for the ladies from our area and others nationally that they will come and the Lord will speak to their hearts.

During Easter Week, we will have our annual Youth Camp.  Please begin to pray for it even now.  Most of our youth are poor and for them to be able to attend we ask for you to help them by paying for half of one’s Camp fee.  We need to raise $40.00 for each camper, about $2000.00.  If you can help, please send your offering to the IBFI designated for Youth Camp by March 10th.

Thank you for your prayers and may the Lord bless each of you in a special way for your partnership with us for souls in Honduras.

Dear Pastor and Church:

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support.  It is our privilege to be your representatives in the country of Honduras.  Crime and violence are constantly increasing here, so please pray for the safety of our family, church, and friends.  One of Alba’s sisters was victim of extortion and her house was shot at in August.  They had to close their business and move to another city.  Last week the political parties of the country had their primary elections for president, congress, and mayors of each city.  This was the special prayer request that we could not mention.     We trust that each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We celebrated in our home with my parents.  I was asked by one of our local grocery stores to go on the local evening news program and explain what Thanksgiving is!

We are in the process of changing our prayer letter list to an email list.  We want to thank those who have responded to this request.  If you prefer receiving emails, please send us your church’s email address or your personal email to send you our letters.  This will save money in postage and printing.  If you prefer to receive a paper copy, we will be glad to continue to send it to you.  Please contact us through the IBFI address or our email below.

September 10th is CHILDREN’S DAY in Honduras.  Our church celebrated with the children having a game day with refreshments and a piñata full of candy.  We had a great time with the children.  Also, the youth visited an orphanage.  They played with the kids, took them some toys, and a meal from Wendy’s.  It was good for our church youth to see the misfortune of others and we trust we were a blessing to the children.

Men from around Central and Western Honduras gathered for our annual Men’s conference the end of September.   We had four men from our mission.  We also had three Honduran Pastors.  My Dad, Missionary Harold Priday, taught on the subject of REAL CHRISTIAN MEN.  It was a blessing to all who attended.  Thank you for your prayers!

December will be a very busy month.  The 1st our church will host a Youth Rally with several other churches.  The 8th I will teach a workers workshop in our church.  The 14th several mission churches are having a watch night service together.  Our mission will have a special Christmas service, dinner, and offering the 23rd.  Also, January 7th – 11th we will have Vacation Bible School with the help of Misionary Miss Gayle Sparkes.   Please pray for each of these special activities, that souls will be saved and Christians edified.

May God bless each of you in a special way as you help us reach Honduras with the only true Hope, Jesus Christ.  We wish each of you a truly blessed Christmas, celebrating the Birth of our Precious Savior.

Yours with Hope for Honduras,

Leslie, Alba, Halbert, & Edgar Priday

Dear Prayer Partners and Supporters:

Your prayers have resulted in special blessings the last months.  In June we celebrated Students Day with an all day Youth Rally with young people from four different churches.  Although the rain spoiled our outside activities, we had great day.  We had a service in the morning to begin the day and then another service in the afternoon to close the Rally.  The ladies of the church prepared lunch.  The purpose of the rally was to encourage and strengthen the youth and promote our Youth Camp.  This is a picture of some of the youth during the rally.

In the mission in Barrio Abajo we have been teaching an Evangelism course every Sunday afternoon before the evening service.  It is for the new people to better prepare them to win souls.  We have had a good group of six to eight adults that we started with in June.  They have been faithful and interested.   Please pray that the Lord will use us to reach many souls for Christ in the violent society here.   Recently I was asked to teach classes about values at a night school for grades 5 and 6.  Please pray for these classes and the students.

We praise the Lord that seven recently obeyed the Lord in Scriptural baptism.  When we announced the Baptism service, we only had one teen that was going to be baptized, but soon we had a group of seven.  We praise the Lord for this great victory for the church as well as for those who were baptized.  Please pray for these that they will continue to grow spiritually.

In the month of Septmeber, we will be having our annual Men’s conference with men from several churches around the country.  The speaker again will be my Dad.  Please pray with us that we will have a good group of men and for my Dad as he teaches on the subject of REAL CHRISTIAN MEN.

We are in the process of changing our prayer letter list to an email list.  Pastor, please send us your church’s email address or your personal email to send you our letters.  This will save money in postage and printing.  If you prefer to receive a paper copy, we will be glad to continue to send it to you.  Please contact us through the IBFI address below or our email: lesliepriday@gmail.com.   May God bless each of you in a special way as you help us reach Honduras with the only true Hope, Jesus Christ.
