November, 2008 (Adobe PDF File can be found Here.)

Dear Pastor and Church:

Thank you so much for your prayers. During October, Honduras was under extreme flooding. Many people have lost their homes. There are many people living in refuge centers. Some 45 bridges were washed out. Almost half of the crops were lost so there will be food shortages next year. This was the worst flooding in 10 years, since Hurricane Mitch, and in some places worst than Hurricane Mitch.

In October the church had a 3 day revival. We praise the Lord for the good attendance and wonderful messages that Bro. Polo, pastor of my Dad’s last work, preached. We also had a teachers’ seminar two Saturday afternoons. It was taught by my Mom. It was a real blessing. We had adults and teenagers from 2 churches present, teachers and future teachers. A group from the church went to the state prison in our state capitol about 35 minutes from here to visit the son of one of our ladies and the nephew of 2 others. We had a good visit with him and he was encouraged.

We praise the Lord that after prayer meeting, a 14 year old boy accepted Christ as his Saviour. What a blessing! One Sunday morning Pastor Edwin and I cooked breakfast for our men. Afterwards, we watched a video for fathers about raising Christian children in a wicked world. We had a great time. We will be having a joint youth service November 29th. Please be in prayer for the youth in our community. Also, Calvary will be having a mission conference in December. Please be in prayer for it as Pastor Edwin leads them to obey the Great Commission.

We have not yet been able to start services in the new area due to the terrible weather here. But the Lord had lead to us a preacher who wants to work with us in starting a new work. I have been asking the Lord for a Macedonian Call, (Acts 16:6-12), so we praise the Lord for this new family. We are visiting some contacts that he has.

The Lord has been good to us and we thank Him for His blessings. Since our last letter, we were finally able to get our things, Bibles, tracts, and car out of customs. We thank BEAMS and Fellowship Tract League for their donations to us. If you could send them a special offering, I know they would appreciate it. I had cataract surgery the 6th in the capitol city. Things did not go as the doctor had hoped, so he had to use the old method. But praise the Lord my vision is much improved.

Crime and violence are increasing in Honduras. Please pray for our safety and God’s protection over us. Honduras will be having primaries elections the end of this month. Please pray for this time that God’s perfect will may be done. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. We surely have so very much for which to be thankful to God. It is our privilege to be your missionaries in Honduras. May God bless you in a special way.

Yours with Hope for Honduras,

The Leslie Priday Family
