January 22, 2007

Dear Pastor & Church:

We trust that each of you had a wonderful Christmas and that God has greatly blessed you since our last letter. We praise Him for His answered prayers and for each of you who pray for us. We mentioned several special requests and are excited to share the results of your prayers and financial support with you.

YOUTH CAMP, DECEMBER 27-30

We had a great week, with 31 in attendance from three church works. Fellow missionary Mike Adams and our Honduran preacher Edwin were great co-organizers. We had three classes each day taught by Honduran pastors on Dating, the Book of James, and False Sects. Each night one of us preached. The Lord blessed greatly. We had many decisions made for the Lord. The last night, we had a bonfire testimony service. It was a great blessing to hear the teens telling what the camp had meant to them and the decisions they had made. They had a special youth service in the church and each teen gave a testimony about camp. It was a great blessing! We are already planning for the next one!

CHURCH MEETING PLACE

Praise the Lord that He provided a new place for the church to rent for services. We will have to build some Sunday school rooms, but it has a large room for the services. The people are excited and the attendance has increased!

PRAYER WEEK

In January, we held our annual Prayer Week the 14th to the 20th to start off the New Year. Bro. Edwin and I took turns preaching and leading the prayer service. Each night we had a short message on a different aspect of prayer. Following the sermon, we had a special time of prayer on different subjects of requests. We challenged them to become people and a church of prayer. Praise the Lord that the attendance was high through out the week. The people made important decisions concerning their prayer lives! We even had two teen aged boys accept Christ that week!

MIRACULOUS SALVATION!

One of Alba’s aunts who is almost 88 years old has been very sick. The doctors sent her home from the city 2 hours away with nothing else to do for her. We went to visit her and talk to her about her salvation. She was in and out sleeping, but I was able to finish presenting the plan of salvation to her and asked her some questions to see if she understood. I asked if she wanted to be saved and she said yes! I prayed and then helped her pray and ask Christ to forgive her sins and save her! Another day when some other family came in, they asked her if she wanted to go to the Catholic church and confess to the priest. She said no, she had asked Christ to save her with Leslie! This is a great victory because she has been Catholic all of her life, her parents, grandparents and family have all been back to when Columbus landed in Honduras in 1502! Praise the Lord for His amazing Grace!!

BAPTISMS

We are excited that we have several ready to be baptized on February 4th. Please pray for these that need to follow the Lord in baptism. Sometimes, this is a hard step for them to take and many times they face opposition in their families. It is always a blessing to see them obey the Lord and to grow spiritually.

FURLOUGH

Please pray for us as we are preparing to leave for our furlough this summer. We need a vehicle when we arrive, a laptop computer, to raise more support, and replace some of our appliances and equipment. I will be calling many pastors to set appointments to be with you.

We consider it a privilege to be your missionaries in Honduras. Please continue to pray that we will see souls saved. May the Lord bless each of you in a special way.

Yours with Hope for Honduras,

Leslie Priday and Family
